Hey world!
I have decided to try and stop being slack. I am going to write in this thing everytime that the opportunity arises. Someone hit me if I don't, k? Good. Now that that's sorted...
Umm... You know that 10 000 word novella thing I have to write? Well, how about I post it on this blog thing. So every time I write a chapter, I'll stick it on here, so as you all can appreciate my literary talent *ahem ahem...* I've written 129 words so far. Only 9 871 to go... In three weeks. I don't even know how it's going to end yet! How about when I get a few chapters written, you send me some suggestions. Ok? Ok. Actually, I don't even know if people have actually read these article blog thingies I've been writing. If you do actually read it, can you give me a shout just to tell me that I'm not writing to no one? Thanks in advance.
Now. I've decided that I should use names on this thing... That is, names of my friends. Therefore, I'll have to introduce them to you.
Claire (aka Austin) - That's me. I'm short (5'0"!!!!!!), I'm 15, and I'm kind of the weird one... Sort of... More like unusual... Anyways. I'm a muso - I play piano, violin (which I never practice) and I sing. I'm no Australian Idol though....
Kathyrn (aka Kat) - My best friend. Also short, but not quite as short as me. She's not 15 yet... Not that anyone really cares about ages.. Hehe. Lately, she's been having a few relationship issues... I swear, I could write the entire novella on her probs if I really wanted to. She's a muso too - plays oboe and clarinet, and practices even less than I do.
Grant (aka Grant) - He's the weird guy in the group. I liked him from Year 7 up until the beginning of this year, Year 10. Let me tell you, that is SAD. Grant is not really the sort of person one would like, and still be seen as having decent taste in guys. But everyone knows that I have odd taste... More on that later.... Grant is a muso too (yes, there are lots of us) - he plays tenor sax and cello, plus about 20 other instruments. Yes, he's THAT sort of person. Plus he sings... Oh dear... I shouldn't bitch... But... His voice is... unusual... Yes... Unusual... Say no more, eh.
Clay (aka Clay - the boys don't have nicknames) - Clay is the jester of the group. At least , he likes to think he is. He's highly immature one minute, and then his maturity levels jump about 10 years the next. Quite frustrating really... Clay can sing. But he won't.. Not for anyone.. He only will if he wants to show off. Which actually isn't that often, seeing as he's overly self-conscious.
Cassie (aka Cass) - She's the non-musical one, the fashoin expert. She hates my hair. Well Cass, I LIKE it short. So there. It's not that short. *ahem* Anyways... Grant says Cass' talent is socialising. He's right. She is the blonde, flirty, cutesy sort of one. These are all used for want of a better word - it makes her sound like a complete superficial ditz.. She's not... Take all of my descriptions in a positive light, ok?
Rick (aka Rickless What does Rickless rhyme with??? I'll give you three guesses... No, but seriously.) - He's 15, going on 16 soon, and he's in Year 11. I love Rick. I mean it. He knows it. But the heartbreaking thing is that I know who he likes. And it sure as hell ain't me. And if that reflects the sort of girl he likes... Then I have no chance. He knows I like him. The really infuriating thing is that when I have a moan to him about how pointless it is, me liking people (basically, no one I've ever liked has liked me back - they're all like, "Err... Claire... Hmm..."), he just says, "Well, don't give up." Jeez. Thanks Rick. That really helps... *sigh* Love is a strange, strange thing, which does strange, strange things to people.
If there's anyone else important in my stories, then I'll give you a bio of sorts on them too.
Anyways... I'll leave it there for tonight, I think. See if I can get a start on this bleedin' novella...
Luv Austin
P.S: There's a twilight concert (hour long concerts that the school puts on for families of the performers once a term - at twilight, duh!) tomorrow night... The choir's singing... And Rick is the accompanist!!!!!!! And as there's a lot of sitting around to be done... I'll have an opportunity to have a decent chat with him, without him going silent or calling someone for an hour or something like he does when I'm talking to him on MSN. Typical boy. I love him all the same.
